Hello, my name is John. Since June 2005 I have been writing and editing A DC Birding Blog, in which I narrate my birding adventures and comment on environmental issues that affect the Mid-Atlantic region and the world. Earlier this week, DL Ennis, the proprietor of the Blue Ridge Gazette, invited me to join the team of bloggers he is putting together here. After giving it some thought, I gladly accepted. I am looking forward to learning more about the region and its natural history as I blog here.
