Covered Bridge Festival, Patrick County, Virginia
Travel Back in Time at the 2nd Annual Covered Bridge Festival
The Patrick County Tourism Office with support from the Patrick County Board of Supervisors, will host the 2nd annual Covered Bridge Festival in Woolwine, Virginia on Saturday, June 17th.
The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with opening remarks at Bob White Covered Bridge by Crystal Harris, Smith River District Board Member, as we remember Ms. Annie Weaver Atkins, Woolwine’s Covered Bridge Lady.
From Bar-B-Que to mountain burgers, food vendors will line Route 8 in the vicinity of Benny Wood’s Garage. They will tempt your taste buds with ice cream, fried apple pies, funnel cakes, kettle corn and more! Take in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains and watch the mule and horse drawn wagon rides as they take visitors to and from the two covered bridges or take a ride yourself. Climb aboard the tractor-pulled hay wagon and tour the countryside. Reminisce about yester-year as you support the Piedmont Shriner’s Club with their Model T’s and antique car rides. Learn how to spin, crochet, quilt and more at the various craft and art demonstration tents. Get your souvenir mug at the Patrick County Information Booth and enter your chance to
win many prizes throughout the day. Experience the 50’s and 60’s just up the road at Woolwine Elementary where there will be an all day Cruise-In. Find that treasure at the Community Yard Sale held across from Jacks Creek Covered Bridge. Relax awhile as you stroll alongside the gently flowing Smith River at Bob White Covered Bridge while listening to gospel, bluegrass and traditional mountain music throughout the day.
Travel back in time and experience the simple life in Patrick County, Virginia with memories you will treasurer forever.
