Just off of the Appalachian Trail in the Jefferson National Forest this downed tree provides needed microbes and nourishment for new life to flourish in the forest on this mountain…An image from my Fantasy Forest Collection.

On the Trail

Give me a soft bed of leaves
And a log to rest my head upon
On a mountaintop beneath
A veil of stars and come morn
I will be renewed and thrive
