The Forest Floor
A downed and decaying tree plays host to a colony of Paxillus atrotomentesus, and Virginia ferns provide a garnish…It appears that a sundry of insects, snails, and slugs have been feasting on the Paxillus though it is poisonous and not for human consumption.
