Picnic & Outdoors Club Open House at Walnut Creek Park
(Charlottesville, VA) The Outdoor Adventure Social Club is hosting an Open House, Outdoor Activity Demonstration Day and Picnic at Walnut Creek Park.
Summer is nearly upon us and it's time to pull out that bike, shake out that tent, dust off those shoes and get moving! Come meet the OASC's outdoors enthusiasts to see where and when you can put that gear, or the club's own gear that members get to use for free, to good use once again.
Kayaking Demos mark the noon beginning of this fun-filled afternoon. Come sample some of the many activities club members enjoy including: road and mountain biking, kayaking, frisbee golf, hiking and more. Half hour workshops on many subjects will also be held to inform and educate all who attend. Topics include Backpacking Basics, Bicycle Maintenance, and Intro to Rock Climbing. If you have any questions about the sport or the club, you can get them answered here.
Burgers, dogs (veggie and meat), Portobellos, buns and basics provided. Escape the traffic and chaos of graduation weekend and spend a day in the park learning about all the fun to be had with the Outdoor Adventure Social Club. This event is free!
Walnut Creek Park is located south of Charlottesville, off Old Lynchburg Road (Rt. 631) about one half mile past Red Hill Road (Rt. 708). Take a left into the park and follow the road all the way to the end. Shelter #2 will be on your right. Stop in at the Info Table for a list of the days events. This event is open to the public and all 18-and-over are invited to attend. Visit www.outdoorsocial.com for more club information.
